Escapade in the back country of Var :
A nice itinerary in the heart of the Var back country, ideal for bivouacs in the middle of nature and far from the crowd. With typical Provencal villages, magnificent landscapes and a final “sea view” by the Corniche de l’Esterel.

Distance : 200 kms approximately
- Direction the impressive rock of Roquebrune, which is possible to climb or to make the tour via the GR51. Then the gorges of Pennafort, for a refreshing swim, picnic or your bivouac in the evening.
- Continue northward towards the typical villages of the haut-Var : Bargemon, Seillans (classified among the most beautiful villages of France), Mons… And why not take a refreshing break by visiting the cave of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne.
Lake Saint-Cassien will offer you possibilities of bivouac and pleasant swims. Don’t miss the walk to the highest peak of the Esterel: Mount Vinaigre. A breathtaking view on the Esterel massif which extends from the Italian side to the Saint Baumes. - Return by the coast by the Corniche de l’Esterel, from the castle of La Napoule, passing by the port of Poussaï, climb to the semaphore and contemplate the Golden Island.
